Select Your Modules Online:

To select your options, you need to have created your University computing account (subscribe) as described on the Welcome site – please follow the link to access – here.

Access Online Option Choice:

International students (all non UK/EU students):

If you are an international student, you will not be able to enrol before arrival. However, you will be able to select your options once you have created your University computing account. We strongly recommend that you make a note of your University user name and password, as well as your security questions, by emailing them to your personal email account. You will need these details to complete enrolment once you have arrived at the University.

Full-Time Students:

To select your options you will need to access the Student Record System Self Service through SUSSED, the University of Southampton’s portal. Once you have created your University account, log on to SUSSED at www.sussed.soton.ac.uk. From the ‘Students’ tab at the top, select the My Student Record (Banner Self Service) icon, located in the Quick Links.

Enter your University username and password again, and then select Student Services and then Optional Module Choice from the menu and follow the instructions.

Once you have completed the process, a confirmation email will be sent to your University email account. We recommend that you monitor this account regularly before you arrive in case we need to contact you with queries about your choices.

Part-Time Students:

Unfortunately, the Online Option system does not allow you to submit your module preferences online. To select your options, you will need to access the Student Record System Self Service through SUSSED, the University of Southampton’s portal. Once you have created your University account, log on to SUSSED at www.sussed.soton.ac.uk. From the ‘Students’ tab at the top, select the My Student Record (Banner Self Service) icon, located in the Quick Links.

Enter your University username and password again, and then select Student Services and then Optional Module Choice from the menu. Here you can view the modules available this academic year. Please choose your preferred modules and email us directly with your selection. Here in the Student Office, we will manually add your module preferences to your student record.
